Late of the Pier is an electronic, rock band consist of four lads originally from Castle Donington, England.
Late of the Pier are back with couple of new singles Blueberry which was released last December and the most recent one, which is my favorite Best in the Class which will be released on March 1st 2010 digitally and on vinyl.

Up till now, the Late of the Pier singer Samuel Dust is also doing his other project producing Egyptian Hip Hop, however, they are currently putting the final touch on their new album. Thanks to Beach House, our free spirit can still be spelled by some impossibly original tunes. They can domesticated and calm the little beast in our dreamy heart. Beach House is about two nerds from Maryland, the dreamland, Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally and they are all about experimental and dream pop, percussion by Daniel J Franz and Graham Hill.

Their music influenced by groups like MGMT, The Zombie, Julian Casablanca of The Strokes, Ed Droste of Grizzly Bear and other genius. Moderat

Moderat is a collaboration project between two of Germany’s best electronic musicians, Modesekletor and Apparat. Basically these are not a new tunes, but still, i find the Moderat tunes “Rusty Nails” and “A New Error” perfect music to listen to in this kinda “death weather” or any days were less sunlight is involved.

Anyway, they made Moderat’s first EP in 2002 and due to creative differences, somehow the collaboration project became inactive until last year were both Modeselektor and Apparat team up together again to produce EP’s and a album.

Check out my two favorite Moderat Singles “Rusty Nails” and “New Error”. If you are a big fan of Thom Yorke’s solo projects or even Radiohead last album “In Rainbows”, you’re definitely going to love Moderat as well!!

The British singer and songwriter, Elena Jane Goulding a.k.a Ellie Goulding is going to release her debut studio album this March, titled “Lights” which includes the single “Starry Eyed”.

Goulding started her music career in 2009 and has been a supporting artist for Little Boots UK tour as well as a collaboration with Frankmusik on the “Wished I Stay” track and provided vocals for Passion Pitt’s “Sleepyhead” Starsmith remix. Ellie Goulding is definitely going to be one of the emerging indie electro pop artists in 2010, as her slick tunes will obviously bring more colors in our music preferences.

The “Starry Eyed” track remixes are also available by Monsieur Adi and Russ Chimes, ’m pretty sure her charm’s works well!

Pogo X Disney Classic

Pogo is an amazing and distinct Australian musician who composes songs from sounds sampled from Disney movies like Marry Poppins, The Sword In The Stone, Harry Potter and Alice In Wonderland.

This young guy has pushed the boundaries by creating unimaginable and magical electronic tracks by adding Disney movies script as vocals, which makes each track a very different tunes, a mixture of sounds such as Techno, Drum and Bass and Electronic can be heard on Pogo’s magical music.

Last but not least the video’s editing is very cool and is cut up from original Disney films. So, this is a quite different music preference and i think it is good to start our new year with something off the hook!

The Knife - Tomorrow, In a Year

The Knife introduces their astonishing most current track “Colouring of Pigeons” from their upcoming album “Tomorrow, In a Year”. This new track is also in collaboration project with Mt Sims and Planningtorock , not just simply to produces music but they would be writing an opera for Hotel Pro Forma, the Danish performance group with the same titled as The Knife’s new album “Tomorrow In a Year” and it will be based on “Charles Darwin’s On the Orgin of Species”.

I believe this is their first sounds ever combining electronic music with operatic composition, “Colouring of Pigeons” its beautiful dramatic 11 minutes length of track with a mixture of Karin Dreijer Andersson and operatic vocal as well as sophisticated experimental music arrangement, also attached with our local Balinese Gamelan which is made quite danceable in this track. The Knife new album “Tomorrow, In A Year” will be release this March for studio version and this February for Digital version, and definitely will looking forward “Tomorrow, In A Year” opera version.

“One Life Stand” is a new Hot Chip album title that will be release on February 8th 2010. These magnificent boys from London are back to studio after completed their world tour in 2009, creating Hot Chip’s fourth album and currently putting the final strokes for their upcoming album. A list of Hot Chip’s up coming 2010 tour are booked almost until middle of the year and they’re will be kicking off start from The UK and I wonder whether someone is eventually will bring them here to Indonesia.

Enuff for the daydreaming, “One Life Stand” album will be featuring singles “Take It In” taken from Hot Chip’s 2008 Ep/Singles and also “One Life Stand” track. It is sounds a bit darker here after hearing the intro of “One Life Stand” a slice of bass and synth creating some sort of explosion, but then it turns to a smooth dance beat with a glossy guitar rhythm and it means “One Life Stand” track is definitely will be up into my 2010 playlist, But Hey, why would I be so surprised cause it’s Hot chip anyway, they’re always got a way of sick mixing and creating the unpredictable tunes and I bet they’re all always ready for the floor!

The xx is a new marvelous band from south west London consist of four youngster Jamie Smith, Oliver sim, Baria Qureshi, Romy Madly Croft and they are all in the age of 20th. The XX has released their debut album titled 'XX' on August 17th 2009 under Young Turks record, with couple of singles out "Cristalized" and "Basic Space". The band it self was formed in 2005 and these cool kids was coming from the same institution at elliot school which is also produced well known alumni such as Hot Chip, Four Tet and Burial.

The xx's undeniably something special, they're obviously have their own character of music that is differ from any other indie electro pop band, simple yet enchanting tunes that creates gloomy and silence atmosphere, they have their own beautiful way to interpret it into music. The xx's recently has became the supporter acts with bands such as Florence and the machine, Friendly Fires, Metronomy and I'm pretty sure more remixes from The xx singles will be out soon!

It’s been awhile since any Cassius tracks struck on the dance floors, these pair of Parisians Philippe Zdar and Boom Bass return with their new EP Y.S.T.C (Youth, Speed, Trouble, Cigarettes). This EP also, the first EP’s ever released by Cassius with their own record label, Cassius Records. Recently, Phillipe Zdar also produced Phoenix’s latest album Wolfgang Amadeus, Cassius it self has been produced music’s over a decade and definitely the duos became one of the French dance and electronic music pioneers. Greg a.k.a Gtronic is 22 years old DJ and producer from Antwerp, Belgium. his talent are not fall far from the tree, his father was former soul/pop star with his band called Pitti Pollack. from his musical background despite his been enjoyed playing guitar since 8 years old, unlike A-trak who have been spinning and juggling from his early age, Gtronic start spinned his shits out sometimes in 2005.

I'm on my lunch break, sitting in an empty office space browsing around the net and i figured, i wanna beach holiday soooo bad after I'm watching this Classix x Cobra Snake video. the song it self titled "I'll get you" feat Jeppe. For me, this song is so summer holiday tunes, it's like one of those days wearing on my sunglasess playing around with the sea till I'm tired and do exactly the same things again and again, just being relax and thrilled.

Okaayyyy, after following this Montreal boy for a while, I should really say, A-trak is a super genius. It’s Ah-MAZING to see this fella up there spinning and scratching and have fun juggling the beats. Do yourself a favor, check out his production. He has been doing a lot of seriously great deeds for himself, won the DMC’s World DJ championship at the age 15, got his own record label Fool’s Gold, Kanye’s tour DJ, done a bunch of remixes with crazy folks like Boys Noise and Digitalism, Produces his own tracks, my fav's say whoa! , Modeling for a clothing lines from France Sixpack and there are still plenty to talk about this Ah-Mazing A-trak. Not so long ago, he did his Asian tour and somehow forgot about Jakarta, what a shame. Anyway, hopefully he will juggle the beats and having a blast with us sometimes soon. Cut the crap.

After releasing various tracks and albums from early 2006, entertaining electronic bangers allover the globe, DJ and Producers Boys Noize come back with releasing new album titlePOWER with couple of a new tracks released Jeffer and Starter. The Album it self will be release sometimes in this fall, Boys Noize new tracks came out with raw electronics and techno sounds mixed with sophisticated unbelieveable juggling (cut and paste) sort of tunes.

however, it's really intense to having tunes like boys noize as well as more of his crew from boys noize records such as Shadow Dancer, Strip Steve, D.I.M, Djedjotronic and Les Petits Pilous. I hail Boys Noize and his Crews, hopefully some of them will be spinning on Asia soon sometimes this year.
